Aches and Pains Stubborn aches and pains can often be helped by a session of craniosacral therapy, and relieved for good after a course of treatment. Most symptoms of discomfort disappear by themselves if you are well, and not overloaded already. However if there is a strong emotional element behind something happening to you, eg you are hit by a loved one, as opposed to falling over in an accident, even though the physical damage is the same, the body very often finds it much harder to let go if there is a powerful emotional layer attached. Commonly our systems simply need to find an outlet for the accumulation of all the different layers of experience that have built up over the years. A cranial contact can often feel like discovering an escape valve where all your tension can flow, lightening up symptoms so much so that they can free up and dissipate. A detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology gives Julian insight into your symptoms. He also understands how to access emotions and trauma and release their hold on aches and pains. Even if you have struggled with symptoms for decades, the broad and sensitive approach of cranial work can often clear them after a course of treatment. Julian worked with a woman who had a severe headache for nearly 40 years. Even though she took pain-killers, and tried many different therapies, the pain was stubborn and wouldn’t shift. In a craniosacral therapy session, she opened up and expressed intense frustration that she had been harbouring against her family from childhood. She started crying. Her headache improved an hour later. You can read her own account in our case histories section. The body registers events on a physical, mental and emotional level. Very often we need to link body discomfort to what was going on in our lives at the time on an emotional and mental level, in order to release them. Julian is experienced at creating ideal conditions for mental, emotional and physical states to integrate and release. Craniosacral therapy brings the depth and sensitivity for this to occur. | ||||||||||||||||||||
